Leon Underwood [1890-1975] - we specialise in the work of this artist and usually have sculpture, paintings and drawings for sale [the website is not always up to date] - we are also keen to buy the work of this artist.
He was a sculptor and painter who studied at the Slade and Royal College of Art, later teaching at the latter. He was a major early influence on Henry Moore, who was one of his pupils.
Public collections holding Leon Underwood work include the Tate Gallery [London] who have several pieces. Two books have been published on Leon Underwood and his work, the most recent includes a complete catalogue of his sculpture [Lund Humphries, 2000].
Pallant House Gallery held a major retrospective exhibition of his work in 2015 which included this unique sculpture.
