Robert Buhler,R.A. [1916-89] studied at St.Martins and the Royal College of Art. He showed regularly at the Royal Academy from 1946 and became an RA in 1956. He also taught at the RCA from 1948-75. He is best known for his naive/surreal landscapes and portraits. A major retrospective exhibition of his work was held at the Royal Academy in 1980. Public collections include the Tate Gallery, Royal Academy of Arts and National Museum of Wales. A book on his work by Colin Hayes was published in 1986. |
