Leon Underwood [1890-1975] - we specialise in the work of this artist and usually have sculpture, paintings and drawings for sale [the website is not always up to date] - we are also keen to buy the work of this artist. He was a sculptor and painter who studied at the Slade and Royal College of Art, later teaching at the latter. He was an early influence on Henry Moore, who was one of his pupils. Public collections holding Leon Underwood work include the Tate Gallery [London] who have several pieces. Two books have been published on Leon Underwood and his work, the most recent includes a complete catalogue of his sculpture [Lund Humphries, 2000]. |
