Frank Avray Wilson [b.1914] was one of the earliest UK abstract expressionist [or action] painters. The Redfern Gallery [London] held several one-man shows of his work and published a book in the early 1960s illustrating many of his paintings. Since his heyday in the 1950s/1960s his work has been unjustly neglected, but a lot more interest has been shown in the last 2 years. His work is included in many public collections worldwide.
