Daedalus built a wooden cow for Pasiphae [Queen Minos], who had fallen in love with a beautiful white bull given to King Minos by Neptune.                The Minotaur was born as a result of their union.
John Armstrong [1893-1973] studied at St. Johns Wood School of Art. His many one-man exhibitions include Leicester Galleries, Royal Academy of Arts, etc. He was an official war artist during WW11. A major retrospective exhibition was held at the Royal Academy in 1975. His k is included in many public collections including the Tate Gallery.
