Naum Gabo [1890-1977] was a constructivist sculptor, born in Russia. He moved to England in 1935, living mainly in Cornwall and is sometimes associated with the St.Ives School of artists. In 1946 he moved to the USA and became a US citizen. Naum Gabo is now recognised as one of the world's greatest artists and is represented in most important public collections including the Museum of Modern Art [New York] and the Tate Gallery [London] who own 132 of his works. |
